The story revolves around the curse that is supposed to be on the Baskerville family and the sinister events which take place on the "melancholy moor" of Devonshire. If they are not, it’s a brilliant satire.

It was nail biting and I felt a bit nervous at times. The story was very good gripping with a good sense of mystery. It was interesting to read a book that was published long ago and I could see that modern kids books I've read share the same basic plot structure. He occasionally works with police officers to catch criminals, although often operates independently. The central character, Sherlock Holmes, is intelligent, unpredictable and a master of deductive reasoning – in summary, a fascinating character. What this collection offers is a great look into the character of Holmes as a master of solving what seems to be the unsolvable: puzzling crimes, murders.
